Unlike conventional AI platforms that centralize and retain user prompts to train commercial foundation models, Nalanda operates on an edge-first, zero-knowledge architectural paradigm.

We do not monitor, log, capture, or store your private inquiries, research synthesis, cognitive queries, or local RAG retrieval operations. All knowledge compilation executed through local node modules or the Vajra Engine executes directly on client devices.

2. Information We Collect

We limit collection strictly to the minimum administrative and operational metadata necessary to coordinate the network:

• Account Credentials: Name, email address, username, and encrypted password hashes (handled via cryptographic hashing protocols or Firebase Authentication).
• Public Scholar Node Profile: Information you voluntarily publish to the Scholars Registry (such as academic qualification, research topics, bio, motto, and social coordinates).
• Lead & Chapter Registration: Contact parameters (full name, email, phone number, city) submitted when proposing a municipal chapter or registering pathway interest.
• Operational Transaction Data: Unique transaction reference identifiers (such as UPI UTR numbers) utilized solely to verify node genesis contributions and library desk allocations.

3. Purpose & Use of Data

Collected data is processed exclusively for the following legitimate purposes:

• Authenticating authorized node sessions and managing secure account access.
• Facilitating direct academic mentoring and 1-on-1 session inquiries between verified scholars.
• Administering physical workspace bookings and coordinating local chapter study hubs.
• Communicating verification status, ledger confirmations, and essential system updates.

4. Cookies, Storage & Local State

Nalanda does not utilize third-party cross-site advertising trackers. We employ localized browser storage (localStorage / session tokens) solely to maintain essential user preferences, such as your selected theme (Suryodaya / Grantha / Somarasa) and active language mode (English, हिन्दी, संस्कृतम्).

5. Third-Party Services & Infrastructure

We never sell, rent, or monetize personal information. Data is transmitted exclusively to trusted infrastructure partners operating under strict confidentiality and security obligations:

• Cloud Infrastructure: Dedicated hosting on secure enterprise Oracle Cloud Infrastructure servers with SSL/TLS encryption in transit.
• Authentication: Firebase Authentication for token verification and credential security.
• Database: Encrypted relational PostgreSQL storage governed via Prisma ORM.

6. Your Rights & Data Portability

In compliance with applicable data protection regulations (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and global standards):

• You may view, edit, or update your public scholar profile parameters at any time from your Account Gateway.
• You have the right to request full deletion of your account, node records, and associated contact coordinates from our ledger.
• You may request an export of your account metadata by reaching out to our governance coordination desk.

7. Security & Retention

We employ industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to prevent unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure of your information. Account metadata is retained only for as long as your node remains active or as required by regulatory compliance.
